Great new tool to localize.

24 October 2006

So, I found this nifty little new website via Boing Boing.

It’s called Outside. In, and its a pretty cool tool to localize your reading. I realize that Chicago Bloggers is a good source for local blogs, along with Chicago Blogmap. However, Outside.in has a bit of Technorati mashed up with Google Maps.

In short, you enter a zip code, and it gives you the latest stuff on the web posted that is local to that area. It’s pretty spiffy keen, if you ask me. It also saves on slogging through local blog lists for activity. Here, you get the most recent activity right *now*.

The other nice thing is: its not graphic heavy. It’s what any portal should be: something that appears functional upon first looking at it.

In other news, I picked up the keys today. Hooray. Went to the new pad, and danced around naked. Not really, just inspecting the place before we move in. And, as is usually the case, I found a few minor things that need to be cleared up. No biggie.

Digital Arcadia (and this blog, along with the other sister sites) will go down for a short time on Nov. 6th, while they get moved to their new home. So, please don’t panic and send me a metric assload of email telling me its down. I’ll know. =)

Once I get moved, and get into a better routine of work, and such, I should be able to blog with pretty good frequency again. I have had so much to talk about and say, and just have not had the time to say it. Till then,

Ja Mata!
