I love trolls, they stay crunchy in milk. =)
16 August 2007I recieved this, presumably in response to my 10 commandments for Linux folks. Trolls are just so darned funny.

I would like to thank you for the irony of a “if my web page looks bad
you should view it in firefox” page looking bad when viewed in firefox.

I find it amusing to say the least, that your screenshot is from a
windows machine. Indeed, upon testing in Firefox on Windows, there was
indeed a formatting issue. It’s been fixed now, and I sure want to thank
you for pointing it out to me. You’re a real trooper.
I also found it amusing that I got a mealy mouthed response from someone who linked in from LinuxBrainDump’s “10 commandments for new users”. I never would have imagined someone reading that article, which was asinine, off point, and completely unnecessary tripe aimed at new linux users, sending an asinine, off point and completely unnecessary trollish email about a minor formatting problem (which, by the way, IRONICALLY, only appeared in windows. My buddy Doug went to town, he didn’t have to, but he did, tested it in FF on a mac, while I booted a windows box to check it there…really, a class effort! Of course, I use FF in Linux, and the formatting was fine. I’m sure its apparent, I am not a windows lover/user.)
See, I don’t use windows anymore. Too much TCO in maintaining it. Too much overhead in things like AdAware, and such. You know how it is, or maybe you don’t. Anyway, I’m sure you thought you were clever. Thats the beauty of America. You can believe/think whatever you want. But that’s right, you’re not in America, are you? You’re a canuck. Figures. I can’t blame you much, I don’t care for America too much either. Getting a bit too fascist. Wow, I guess maybe you can’t think/believe whatever you want. Well, maybe we can debate that another time. Suffice to say, you fail at clever. (see attachment)
Perhaps next time, you should just use the comment system. You know, and actually respond with something intelligent? Perhaps with some thought? Not every opinion I have is spot on, but I have no problem with debate. I do have a problem with people who attempt to troll with the kind of nonsense you tried today. =)
BTW, does your boss at gridway know you’re wasting his time with this? Or are you required via your MS Partnership to troll linux users for your MCSE certification?
You have a nice day now. =)

EDIT: He responded. Of course, he also made a fun blog post of his own. Yay. I love links! Of course, while he lives under the delusion tent he’s erected for himself, a number of people have commented on his own…shall we say, flaws of formatting? In any event, this fellow seems like a blast. So, let’s trot this pony.

Always glad to help.
Sure glad to know that you thunderbird folk do all your homework, like checking headers in emails to see what client they are using,
check the websites they host… us windows users sure have things to learn from you linux people. Thanks for clearing all that up — I’ll sleep better now.
Bye
Wow. Mutt. THE REAL MAN’S Mail Client. I am impressed. But, to be honest, all I looked at was the apache logs at the time. See, we were
getting along here, and then you had to go and assume I was interested in doing a huge amount of work for you. *sigh*…I can see our
relationship is going to be a rocky one.
BTW, seeing as we are on the subject of niggling issues, we were discussing the whole thing around #modus on freenode, and well…you
know, the subject came up about a few minor issues, my pal paotzu had some issues with your blog:
[2007-08-16 16:55:30] paotzu: fuck wordpress
[2007-08-16 16:56:57] paotzu: that blog sucks
[2007-08-16 16:57:33] paotzu: javascript:switch_arrow(’archives’);
[2007-08-16 16:57:41] duo: lol
[2007-08-16 16:57:42] paotzu: I hate shit like that
[2007-08-16 16:57:52] paotzu: fucking make a subsection
[2007-08-16 16:58:11] paotzu: I don’t need a menu of every fucking possible page
[2007-08-16 16:58:14] paotzu: jesus
[2007-08-16 16:58:20] paotzu: that always annoys me
[2007-08-16 16:58:27] paotzu: it’s like people stuff their sitemap in their navigation bar
[2007-08-16 16:58:35] paotzu: and throw some javascript in to hide part of it
[2007-08-16 16:58:40] paotzu: it’s like thanks, asshole
[2007-08-16 16:58:47] paotzu: can’t structure a website
[2007-08-16 16:58:50] paotzu: so you write a “blog”
[2007-08-16 16:59:15] paotzu: and use javascript for everything
[2007-08-16 16:59:24] paotzu: so when I am just trying to read your page in dillo
[2007-08-16 16:59:36] paotzu: I get the whole sitemap, what a dildo
[2007-08-16 17:00:10] paotzu: I should complain this guy’s site renders like shit in dillo
[2007-08-16 17:00:19] paotzu: it would render fine if those categories were just links
I myself, have not used dillo, although I hear good things about it. Its a no nonsense browser. I thought about compiling Mosaic to see how your stuff rendered in that. Turns out Mosaic does not like the modern linker in Linux these days. I know. Old software. Anyway, too much work, didnt feel like wasting time on Mosaic. But, paotzu…you know, try to understand…he just likes consistency. He likes it when people who attempt to flame other people first have their own house in order.
Also, he had this to say about your place of employment:
[2007-08-16 19:01:51] paotzu: gridway sucks man
[2007-08-16 19:01:56] paotzu: have you seen the layout of that website
I have to agree, maybe if you stopped futzing around with me, you could maybe use your skills to freshen up that site, cause…damn. I am no uber linux guy, or super genius, but…hell, I have to admit, its got some formatting issues there in FF on Linux. (see attachment). I mean really, youve got bullet points munged up into the picture. And what’s with the incoherent picture placement?
I find it ironic that you chose to single me out for web rendering errors when it seems you have a few of your own. Again, I have to ask,
does your boss know you’re hassling me on company time? I mean, shouldn’t you be worrying about your own workload?
Anyway, as you are into addressing critical statements made about you, with unmitigated penis waving, I figured you’d want to know about that and stuff. Paotzu ain’t a bad guy, but he’s like high maintainence. You know, he likes only the finest blow, has to have a $100.00 bill…stuff like that.
But, back to you: yet again, you fail to stay on target. Seeing as you’re in mutt, maybe you should fire up tin (how about perverted tin, you know, with ANSI color? *sinful glee*) and head to USENET. Your type of trolling belongs there. Try alt.flame. Oh! I know, maybe alt.fan.karl-malden.nose. The nosers will get a kick out of you Heck, I havent been on Usenet in years, I wonder if the nosers are even still around. You know they had some of the BEST cascade attacks EVAR?
But, no, the issue here is: you trolling, and failing to actually make any relevant points here. Of course, I am just as bad…after all, I’m
feeding you. Ill make sure I slap my hand later. I know rule one is never feed a troll. Although, on 4chan its rule 14. Of course, a hot topic of debate is always rule 34. But, there I go again…wandering off topic.
Anyway, you’re a fun and fancy fellow. I took the liberty of posting our lovely correspondence on my blog. I also want to thank you for posting that super crunchy awesome screenshot of my bad formatting. Gets me out there more. I also took the liberty of CC’ing my bud paotzu on this. Hope you don’t mind. He’s keen to get some Sun Grid Computing advice from you. Although, you might want to watch him, I hear he has pine installed. You just never know about those pine/pico users.
With tender salutations,
Your new pal,
Duo.
