“But I do so with a clear conscience. As I have said since the beginning of this 10-year ordeal, I am innocent.”
Ryan is as crooked as they come. This is further evidenced by his absolute refusal to acknowledge the damage done with his license scandal. The Willis family lost all of their children, and he has yet to acknowledge it. His complicity in it.
And now, he heads to Oxford. Referred to jokingly as “The Illinois politicians retirement home”.
Hopefully the supreme court rejects his appeal and then we, the people, can finally settle in and call George Ryan what he is: a convicted criminal who used the fruits of his office to enrich himself, as determined by a legal jury, in a legal proceeding…under the rule of law.
